Gray issues injury update

7 March 2015

Stuart Gray has issued an injury update following the 1-0 win over Blackpool, in which Sam Hutchinson limped off after 18 minutes.

Hutchinson left Bloomfield Road wearing a precautionary protective boot and Gray says his medical staff will assess the situation on Sunday.

He told swfc.co.uk: “I really feel for Sam, he is so unfortunate.

“He’s gone to clear the ball and caught the studs of their lad and there’s no real protection on that part of the boot.

“In typical Sam style, he’s tried to run it off but he was in pain and had to come off.

“It’s a bruise right now so we will have it scanned tomorrow and hopefully it will be good news.”

Elsewhere, Gray also gave an update on Jose Semedo and Kamil Zayatte:

“We’ve had Semi’s scan results and there’s no crack, which is good news. There is some ligament damage, though, so we will probably be looking at weeks rather than days.

“Kamil has a hamstring problem, he had to come off the other night, so he is under treatment as we speak.”
