Hutchinson in contention

12 March 2015

Midfielder Sam Hutchinson could be in line to keep his shirt in the engine room despite leaving the action early through injury at Bloomfield Road last weekend.

The ex-Chelsea man suffered bruising to his foot in the victory over Blackpool and was replaced on 18 minutes but has resumed training.

Stuart Gray is hopeful the 25-year-old will be available and said:

“Sam has trained this morning, he is a bit tender with a bruised foot but he wanted to train so hopefully we will see no reaction and he will be available.

“He caught the back of someone’s studs and has a bruised foot but he has trained well this morning.”

Elsewhere, Jose Semedo, Kamil Zayatte and Sergiu Bus are making progress with their respective injuries and Gray continued:

“Jose has been out running with the medical team but he will be another two-three weeks.

“Zayatte and Bus are training with the fitness coach.

“It’s too soon for both of them for Saturday but Zayatte might have an outside chance for Tuesday at Wolves.

“The last thing we want is players in the treatment room. I don’t want the physios being busy at this stage because we have ten games to go and we need everybody.”
