Lavery back in the fold

16 March 2015

Having been recalled from his loan spell at Chesterfield, Owls head coach Stuart Gray says Caolan Lavery has returned match fit and ready to go.

The 22-year-old has scored two in his last three games for the Spireites and returned ahead of the Owls’ trip to Wolves on Tuesday.

With Will Keane a doubt for the Molineux fixture through injury, Lavery has bolstered the Owls’ attacking options.

Gray said: “At the moment we’ve got Atdhe Nuhiu, Stevie May and possibly Chris Maguire who can play down the centre.

“The good thing is Lavery has come back match fit, he’s enjoyed his spell at Chesterfield and we’re grateful to them.

“We’re disappointed we had to pull him back but that’s how the loan market works and it’s needs must.

“Caolan needed to get those minutes and miles under his belt which he has done on a regular basis for Chesterfield.

“You can train every day of the week but nothing beats that matchday intensity so hopefully he’ll have a part to play against Wolves and for the rest of the season.”
