Loan watch: Caolan Lavery

12 March 2015

Owls striker Caolan Lavery is making the most of his loan spell with League One outfit Chesterfield.

The Spireites are in the hunt for a play-off spot in the third tier and Lavery is playing his part in Chesterfield’s bid for promotion.

The 22-year-old will remain on loan at The Proact Stadium until the end of the season and with two goals in his last two games, Lavery is enjoying the experience after an injury-hit start to the season at Hillsborough.

He said: "Chesterfield have given me the opportunity to stay and Sheffield Wednesday have allowed me to, so I'll try and play more games.

"Wednesday want me to play games and continue what I'm doing at the minute. I missed the first half of the season through injury so I've not played a lot of games.

With Chesterfield two points off South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster in sixth spot, Lavery added:

“I don't see why this club can't make the play-offs. Since I've been here, I haven't seen a team that's really out-played us.

"I'm looking forward to being here for the rest of the season."
