The Wednesday Under-18s returned to winning ways in style on Saturday with a 2-1 win at table-topping Huddersfield.
In an impressive all-round display, Jake Nicholson and George Hirst were on target as the Owls had too much to the Terriers in West Yorkshire.
Coach Steven Haslam told swfc.co.uk: “The performance and result should give the boys a lot of confidence, deservedly winning away against the team at the top of the league and I thought we looked comfortable throughout.
“The work rate of the players was superb and we had some quality performances as well with Matt Penney and Warren Clarke impressing in midfield.
“It was also a good experience for the two Under-16 players started. Jack Lee read the game well at centre back and George Hirst led the line effectively and scored the winning goal with a cracking header."
