The month kicked off with defeat at home to Blackburn. Two early goals from the visitors gave the Owls a mountain to climb and although Chris Maguire halved the deficit after the break, it proved only a consolation.

Wednesday were then back on the road and picked up a hard-fought victory over Championship strugglers Blackpool.

In difficult conditions, the Owls secured the win through loanee Lewis McGugan, whose wide free kick evaded all those in the middle to nestle in the back of the net.

The Owls played out a 1-1 draw with Fulham in S6 midway through March.

Stevie May put Wednesday ahead only for Matt Smith to level with 15 minutes left on the clock.

In-form Wolves, who are in hot pursuit of a play-off position, ran out 3-0 winners at Molineux.

The Owls were dealt a blow in the first half after the hosts were awarded a controversial penalty, converted by Bakary Sako, and further goals from former Owl Benik Afobe and James Henry settled the contest.

Then came the highlight of the month for Wednesday in a dramatic South Yorkshire derby at The New York Stadium.

The points looked destined to stay in Rotherham with the Owls 2-1 down before the game turned completely on its head in stoppage time.
