Rhys McCabe bagged both goals as the Owls’ Under-21s beat Charlton 2-0 at Middlewood Road on Monday afternoon.
The Scot scored goals either side of half time as Wednesday overcame the in-form Londoners.
The Owls were off to the perfect start and took the lead after just 15 seconds when McCabe crossed from the right and the ball found its way straight into the back of the net.
After the break, it was Wednesday posing more of a threat and their dominance was rewarded midway through the half as Jack Stobbs’ cross was touched in by McCabe to seal victory.
Owls: Wildsmith, Buxton, Floro (Beatson 54), De Haviland, Kelhar, Sanders (Penney 46), McCabe, Croasdale, Tracey (Clarke 63), Meadows, Stobbs
