Adam Pearson has left Sheffield Wednesday to take up the post of Executive Director at Leeds United.
Pearson joined the Owls as part of the recently established Sporting Director by committee.
He said: "I was part of the committee advising the chairman but once the owner at Leeds got in touch, this is where my heart lies.
"I know the city very well and I know the club, it's my hometown city."
Sheffield Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri said: "In many ways Adam’s departure underlines the strength of his appointment.
"These things happen in every line of business and football is no different.
"I wish Adam well for the future and look forward to welcoming him to Hillsborough next season.”
