Wednesday striker Caolan Lavery has been selected by Northern Ireland for the next bout of international fixtures.
The call-up is Lavery’s first for the senior squad having represented Northern Ireland at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
Ireland face Qatar in a friendly at Crewe’s Gresty Road on Sunday 31 May (5.00pm) before resuming their Euro 2016 qualification campaign against Romania at Windsor Park, Belfast on Saturday 13 June (7.45pm).
The 22-year-old enjoyed a productive loan spell at Chesterfield in 2014/15, scoring three goals in eight games, helping the Spireites secure a play-off spot.
Lavery returned to Hillsborough in March and scored in the Owls’ dramatic 3-2 win over Rotherham at The New York Stadium and then in the 1-1 draw with Charlton at Hillsborough.
