Caolan Lavery has one big goal to achieve and that is to earn his first senior international cap.
The 22-year-old has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for their hugely important Euro 2016 qualifier against Romania next month.
The Irish are just one point behind group leaders Romania and victory in Belfast on 13 June would put them in pole position to qualify for their first ever European Championship finals.
The nine group winners and runners-up will directly qualify for the final tournament, along with the best third-placed side.
Lavery said: “I’m delighted to have been selected in the squad and it’s a big honour for me.
“Making my debut for the senior national team is the next goal on my list.
“I’m looking forward to getting on the plane to meet up with the boys and be involved one way or another.”
And Lavery is hoping a stint away on international duty will also be a benefit on the domestic front when the Owls report back for 2015/16.
He added: “I hope to get another good pre-season under my belt and push on - meaning more starts and more goals. Hopefully I can help push us further up the table where we belong.
“Overall I'm happy with how I finished last season. I felt like I was getting back to myself again after missing so much at the start and now I can't wait for next season.”
