Following his late equaliser against Blackburn, Lucas Joao has told swfc.couk that he is in the best form of his career.
The young striker scored his sixth goal in 11 games for Wednesday, as the Owls drew 2-2 at Ewood Park.
Delighted with his recent purple patch in front of goal, combined with his first two caps for the Portuguese national squad, he said:
“In this moment it is amazing for me because I scored again to help the team.
“I am scoring goals here and go to first team of the national squad so I’m very happy.
“This is the best moment of my career that is for sure.”
The in-form striker was disappointed not to come away with more than a point from the clash with Rovers but now looks ahead to Tuesday’s cup clash with Stoke City.
He continued: “I’m very happy that I scored but disappointed that we didn’t win the game.
“In the second half, the team gave good answers and we did better.
“The draw isn’t bad because we are away from home against a tough team but the most important is that we go to Stoke and get into the next round.”
