Carlos calls for 11 gladiators

27 November 2015

Wednesday head to Ewood Park on Saturday looking to continue their progression in the Sky Bet Championship.

Last weekend’s win over Huddersfield moved the Owls to within a point of the top six.

Victory over Blackburn could see Wednesday force their way into the play-off pack and for all that to happen, Carlos Carvalhal says his players must battle like gladiators.

“It’s another time we will play against a team with a new coach, it is never easy for opponents to play against these teams,” he said.

“We must play with 11 gladiators on the pitch.

“We need a lot of support from outside because we have analysed the opposites and we know it will be a very, very tough game.

“This game will be different from the previous games because they have changed their coach and are playing different football.”

Rovers were off to a flyer under new manager Paul Lambert last week, picking up a 2-1 win at Preston and are looking to add to that this weekend.

Carlos emphasised the importance of his squad giving everything against Rovers and believes the ingredients are there to make for an interesting contest.

He continued: “We must play like gladiators because it will be a very difficult game, absolutely sure. It will be very difficult for Blackburn Rovers too.

“We are ready for this very difficult match.”
