Close the gap

2 November 2015

High in confidence and on a long unbeaten run, Daniel Pudil now wants to narrow the gap between the Owls and league leaders Brighton.

Wednesday have the chance to do just that on Tuesday evening as the Seagulls travel to Hillsborough for the next instalment of Sky Bet Championship action.

Seven points separate top of the table Brighton and eighth-placed Wednesday.

Looking forward to the game, Pudil said: “We have to keep on going and tomorrow we play against Brighton, who are top of the league.

“They have to come and play football here but we have big confidence and are going for the win.

“The gap is seven points right now and we want to be closer to them after this game.”

Wednesday moved to one point outside of the play-off positions after victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Fernando Forestieri’s goal sealed the win and saw the Owls go on to ten without defeat.

Pudil believes Wednesday fully deserve their success of late and added:

“We are unbeaten in ten games but it’s not just about those ten games, we have to look forward and keep on going.

“Right now, everyone wants to beat us. We are playing nice football and we deserve it right now so.”
