Injury boost for Owls

23 November 2015

Wednesday are set to receive a welcomed boost on the injury front this week.

Following victory over Huddersfield on Saturday, Carlos Carvalhal revealed that Barry Bannan and Michael Turner will return to training.

Influential midfielder Bannan, who was voted as the swfc.co.uk October Player of the Month, missed out on Saturday through a knee injury he picked up at Charlton before the break.

Turner hasn’t featured for Wednesday since the 1-1 draw with league leaders Hull back in October.

Carlos said: “Everything is ok, we will recover some players and we believe that Bannan and Turner will be back to the training this week.

“We have recovered other players also, Modou Sougou was back on the bench on Saturday and Alex Lopez will be back this week too.”

That news arrives at a key time for the Owls ahead of the traditionally busy cluster of festive fixtures.

With focus now on Wednesday’s coming trip to Blackburn this weekend, the head coach added:

“We have a lot of games coming up, we are pushing the players because we need all of them. It will be a very difficult period.”
