Owls edged out by Huddersfield

14 November 2015

The Owls’ Under-18s were edged out 1-0 by Huddersfield at Middlewood Road on Saturday.

Wednesday conceded the only goal of the game late in the first half as the visitors held out for the points.

The regular Owls side this season was disrupted through a combination of injury, suspension and international duty and Huddersfield ultimately capitalised.

Connor O’Grady and keeper Brad McDonagh made key interventions to prevent Town taking an early lead but Wednesday went one down from a set play just before the break.

The goal gave the Terriers a real boost and they edged proceedings for the remainder of the game – save the last minute when Owls substitute Jon Centeno fired agonisingly wide from the edge of the penalty area.

Wednesday: McDonagh, Conneh, Penney, Nicholson, O'Grady, Lee, Lonchar (Centeno 87), Clarke, Tracey, Duffy (Cook 69), Price (Preston 80)
