The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme have hosted a regional sports event that saw young people from four football clubs take part.
The event, the North East Premier League 4 Sport (PL4S) tournament, was held at Wisewood Sports Centre and saw more than 100 young people from Sheffield Wednesday, Newcastle United, Middlesbrough and Hull compete in table tennis, basketball and football.
Over the last two years, the club’s Community Programme has worked in partnership with the Premier League, Sport England and sporting national governing bodies to deliver the national project and deliver Sheffield Wednesday branded weekly satellite clubs in schools and community centres across the north of Sheffield.
Harrison Brealey, PL4S participant and Sheffield Wednesday fan, said: “I’ve been involved with the project for the last two years and really enjoy representing the club. I’ve also had the opportunity to be a ball boy at Hillsborough which was amazing”.
Well done to all those who took part and the Community Programme looks forward to seeing you again soon!
