Owls stars join Saving Lives campaign

27 November 2015

Owls stars Tom Lees and Modou Sougou have backed a national health campaign to help raise awareness around National HIV Testing week.

The campaign, ‘Saving Lives’, encourages people to take a simple blood test that can help keep you healthy. One in five people living with HIV don’t know they are infected which means they can’t access today’s life-saving treatment, and may be passing on their infection to others.

Dr Steve Taylor, the Medical Director of the charity, said: “A simple blood test can change all this – and that’s where football clubs in. They can use their influence to educate people who may not otherwise think the message has anything to do with them.

“We’d like to say thank you to Sheffield Wednesday for their support on the campaign.”

National HIV Testing Week and Saving Lives are raising awareness and promoting free tests on social media all week.
