Lucas Joao has earned a maiden call-up to the senior Portugal national squad.
The Wednesday striker is in contention for back to back friendly encounters against Russia and Luxembourg, both of which are away from home.
Portugal play Russia on Saturday 14 November and Luxembourg on Tuesday 17 November.
Joao joined the Owls over the summer from Portuguese outfit Nacional and has proved a big hit with the Hillsborough faithful.
The striker has scored four goals for Wednesday this season, his most recent in the 3-0 Capital One Cup triumph over Arsenal.
Joao has represented Portugal at Under-20 and Under-21 level on five occasions, netting twice.
