Reversing the trend

19 November 2015

Wednesday will be out to reverse a trend when they take on White Rose rivals Huddersfield at Hillsborough on Saturday (3.00pm).

The Terriers are unbeaten from their last five visits to S6, with the Owls last emerging triumphant on home soil back in the 2004/05 campaign – when they went on to secure promotion, of course, to the Championship.

Curiously, the sequence is almost mirrored when Wednesday visit West Yorkshire.

The Owls have remained intact on each of their last four trips to the John Smith’s Stadium, the highlight of which was undoubtedly the 2-0 triumph in April 2012 which, again, was on the way to Championship promotion.

And speaking of the two teams’ tight tussles, who can forget the most exciting one of all in December 2011 at Hillsborough?

Huddersfield stormed into an early 2-0 lead only to see Wednesday strike four times and store a seemingly unassailable 4-2 advantage.

But the Terriers lived up to their name and scored two more goals to level at 4-4, with the equaliser coming in the 96th minute of a pulsating clash.

The Owls and Huddersfield go head to head once more this Saturday and tickets start from £30 for Adult Members on the Kop and £25 for Junior Members Under 11.

As always, we advise to book in advance to avoid unnecessary queues on the day – tickets are available in person at the Ticket Office, at the Sheffield Wednesday Online Shop or by telephone on 0871 900 1867 (£2 booking fee applies).
