Modou Sougou has thanked the Owls’ medical staff for aiding his return to action sooner than expected.
Sougou suffered a shoulder injury during Wednesday’s trip to QPR back in October and feared a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
But the winger has made a strong recovery and marked his return with a goal on Saturday at Ewood Park in the 2-2 draw with Blackburn.
He said: “The team showed it has good spirit, we had big hope before the game but we knew it would be difficult.
“I’m happy for the fans that we could get the point in the end.
“I am very happy with the medical staff at the club because they helped me so much with my injury.
“I was thinking I will stay for more time out but came back early and luckily had the opportunity to play.
“I was delighted with that and when I scored, I was thinking of the staff here at the club who played a big part in getting me back on the pitch.
“When I did the injury it was very painful but my recuperation was good, the medical staff have been outstanding and went the extra mile.
“This support helped me come back sooner for sure.”
