Time to recover

8 November 2015

Following a buy period for the Owls, Fernando Forestieri feels the break has come at the right time.

Wednesday have played seven games in 22 days after Saturday’s loss at Charlton.

The recent run has seen the Owls advance in the Capital One Cup to the quarter final stage and go 11 games unbeaten before the 3-1 reverse at The Valley.

Looking to make the most of a fixture-free weekend next week, Forestieri said: “The international break will be good for us because we have played seven games in one month, so it’s a lot of games.

“This week, we can recover and start again. We will come back more strong, more focused and we will improve.

“We have played a lot of games and now we need to think about the break and recovery.”

The 25-year-old scored what proved only a consolation for Wednesday at The Valley moving the forward on to five goals from ten appearances.

Although happy to keep up his impressive form in front of goal, it was ultimately a feeling of disappointment for Forestieri at full time and he added:

“Of course I was happy to score, I want to keep scoring goals but when we win no points I am not happy.

“I think in the second half we improved but it was too late. It shows in the Championship you can win or lose against any team and you need to be focused 100% for everything game.”
