All for one and one for all

Carlos Carvalhal has hailed the togetherness in the Sheffield Wednesday camp.

The head coach has a wealth of options at his disposal, inevitably leading to disappointment from those not selected for a particular matchday squad.

But Carvalhal is adamant that conundrum will work in his and the club’s favour as opposed to the contrary.

Following the weekend win over Preston that hauled Wednesday into the Championship top ten, he said:

“I am so happy with everyone in the squad at this moment. And I mean the whole squad.

“There are players who do not make the 18 and as I have said before that is not a problem to me, it is normal because we have to have many options.

“But on Saturday morning, we trained with the players who did not make the 18 for Preston and I have to say, they were phenomenal, the attitude, the commitment was unbelievable.

“This is what we have here, this is the kind of togetherness at Sheffield Wednesday.

“When one player is playing and the other one is not, the other one will shake his hand and then work hard to get his place back.

“In that respect, I am very happy, I could not ask for anything more.”
