All out for the win

31 October 2015

Carlos Carvalhal said it was win or bust after the Owls’ 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

The Wednesday head coach made some attacking changes early in the second half to drive the team on to get the three points.

Carvalhal said: “I think the first half was okay, but I felt we could be doing better so I decided to change the team in the second.

“I wanted to go all out for the win and the changes we made were to try and score a goal, so I was very pleased when we managed to do so.

“We had some more chances near the end but I am very happy with the win and the team performance once again.”

Fernando Forestieri scored the winning goal for the Owls with a 25-yard strike, but Carvalhal was just as pleased with the Italian’s work rate.

He added: “It is great when Fernando scores a goal, but he also does so much work for the team off the ball.

“Everyone in the team knows we have to play for each other and that the team comes first, which is why I value everybody’s work rate as much as their contribution to scoring goals.”
