Ross Wallace says the Owls are keen to go into the international break on a high.
Wednesday were defeated 3-1 on home soil by Middlesbrough prior to the last international break at the end of August.
For Wallace, that signalled the start of a long two-week period before the next instalment of Championship action.
Wednesday host Preston this weekend and the 30-year-old is out to ensure the feelgood factor at the club continues by posting a fourth win on the spin.
He said: “I think the Middlesbrough game was our final game before the last international break and it was a poor game for us.
“We don’t want that feeling again. We’ll be looking to give everything and get a good performance going into this break.
“It’s always important to go into international breaks on the back of good results.
“You don’t want to come away with a defeat and be itching to get back out there to put it right, only not to have a game for two weeks.
“When we come back we have got a good period of games to look forward to.”
