Narrow defeat for Under-18s

The Owls’ Under-18s went down to a 1-0 defeat against Bolton at Middlewood Road on Saturday morning.


A Wanderers goal five minutes in proved the difference as, despite Wednesday pressure, the visitors held out for the points.

George Hirst went closest for the Owls, his looped header striking the crossbar midway through the first half.

Substitute Joe Cook was also in the frame to equalise but he headed narrowly over from close range after the break.

Bolton had chances themselves only to find Owls keeper Brad McDonagh in fine form and the game stayed 1-0 in favour of the Lancashire side.
