No favourites, says Carlos

The Owls and Rotherham take centre stage this evening and going into the South Yorkshire derby, Carlos Carvalhal says there are no favourites.

Wednesday head into tonight’s clash at the New York Stadium seven games unbeaten, while Rotherham have lost seven of their 12 Championship games this season.

Looking ahead to tonight’s contest, Carlos said: “In the derbies, there are never favourites in my opinion.

“Even if a team is in first and the other is in last position, we don’t have favourites in these kind of games.

“These games have a special environment, it’s a game where anything can happen.

“It’s different, but more outside of the pitch than inside the pitch.

“The game outside of the pitch starts between friends and when the game finishes, they carry on.

“To us, we understand the environment, we understand the importance of these games but we will change absolutely nothing.

“We’ll go with the same spirit that we have, we’ll fight a lot, we’ll run a lot and we’ll do exactly what we are doing in the last games.”

Tonight’s clash at Rotherham is sold out and supporters are advised to arrive early to avoid queuing at the turnstiles.

Owls fans are also reminded of their conduct regarding setting off smoke bombs or flares. CLICK HERE for full details.
