Owls underdogs but up for the fight

26 October 2015

Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal says Wednesday’s chances of progressing to the quarter finals are at 10% but his side will fight to the end.

Wednesday host Premier League giants Arsenal in the Capital One Cup and both sides enter this fourth round clash in fine form.

While Carvalhal accepts that the Gunners are firm favourites for the S6 clash, the chance of an upset is always present in the cups, as he explained:

“I believe that probably we will have 10% chance to go to the next phase but 10% is 10%.

“It is not zero. Zero is when you can do nothing, 1% you can do something and with 10% you have chances.

“We will grab this 10% and try to do our best and maybe we’ll have a little more with the support of our fans and we will fight, of course.”

A capacity S6 crowd, under the lights and live on Sky will make for a fantastic atmosphere at Hillsborough.

Carlos says it’s these kind of occasions he wants to sample on a regular basis in the near future and he added:

“It will be a fantastic day for the club, people will remember the past and we want that to be the normal in the future.

“It will be a fantastic night with a full stadium and the players will play against one of the best teams in the world.

“In the last six games they did 18 goals, in that time they’ve played Bayern Munich and Manchester United and a lot of other big teams.

“They are doing three goals a game so I think it’s normal that they are completely the favourites to win and go to the next phase.

“If I said the opposite, people would not believe what I am saying. We accept this.”
