Lewis McGugan’s spectacular strike against Preston on Saturday at Hillsborough has been voted as Goal of the Day!
Unsurprisingly, McGugan’s dig from distance made the Sky Sports News HQ shortlist for Goal of the Day and came out on top with 58% of the vote, via social media.
With Preston throwing everything at the Owls in search of an equaliser, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford threw caution to the wind and went upfield for a last minute corner.
But Wednesday broke and Alex Lopez led the charge before teeing up McGugan, who produced an outstanding drive from range that dropped under the crossbar to seal victory.
