Quartet edging closer

16 October 2015

With Wednesday reporting a clean bill of health ahead of tomorrow’s clash with the Tigers, Carlos Carvalhal has said that underlines the importance of the recent break.

Particularly with regard to the likes of Fernando Forestieri, Barry Bannan, Daniel Pudil and Michael Turner, who joined late in the transfer window.

Having lacked regular first team upon joining the Owls, their transition into a busy Championship environment had to be managed in just the right way.

Now, the quartet are much closer in all respects to where Carvalhal wants them to be and he said:

“All the players we brought in at that time are better at this moment.

“We felt that the players we brought in, in the last minute of the transfer window had some difficulties in the beginning and we said that.

“We had small problems with those players because they were not ready and we care about the health of the players.

“We left them out of one or two games, like Bannan at Newcastle and Turner also.”

He continued: “But in this moment they are better and more ready.”
