Sheffield Wednesday are supporting this year’s Prostate Cancer UK’s Movember campaign and are encouraging Owls fans to get behind the charity.
Movember 2015 starts on Saturday 31 October and the start of the campaign will be marked with a special ‘Mo’ branded ‘Mitre delta hyperseam fluo ball’ in the thirty six matches that take place that day.
The ball will then be signed and auctioned off to raise vital funds for the men’s health organisation’s cause areas of prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.
Movember will also be Sheffield Wednesday’s official charity partner on Tuesday 3 November when the Owls face Brighton at home.
Last season, Movember raised more than £50,000 through the Football League community and expects to exceed that amount this season through several charity initiatives including the challenge of growing a ‘mo’.
For this season, Movember’s initiative ‘MOVE’ is encouraging Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to get physically active and make a commitment to improve their health whilst raising funds.
The challenge is to MOVE every day of Movember – 30 MOVEs in 30 days. How you MOVE each day is up to you. Whether it’s a workout one day, walking 30 minutes to work the next and a game of ping pong or a bike ride.
Men and women sign up at Movember.com to grow, give or MOVE for the 30 days of Movember.
