Backed by a capacity crowd at Hillsborough, Jose Semedo believes the cup clash with Arsenal has all the ingredients to be a special night.
Wednesday host the Gunners on Tuesday evening with a place in the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup at stake.
Looking forward to the occasion, Semedo said: “We won at Newcastle and when we got on the bus and saw the draw, it gave us big, big excitement.
“The most exciting thing is that the draw is at home which is special because our fans deserve it.
“They were fantastic at Newcastle and now deserve to see one of the big, big teams at our ground and it will be a good game for sure.”
The Owls head into the cup-tie eight unbeaten in all competitions while Arsenal have won six of their last seven fixtures and sit second in the Premier League.
Semedo continued: “It will be a clash of two teams in good form and that can make a spectacular night.
“Arsenal are obviously one of the best teams in the world. But with the crowd on our side and the help they will give, it will be a special night.
“It’s 11 v 11 but with a big crowd behind us, it is a massive, massive help and we will need that tomorrow, that is for sure.”
