The Owls made seven changes yesterday evening at QPR, one of which was Liam Palmer coming back into the side at right back.
Wednesday posted a hard-fought point and clean sheet at Loftus Road to extend their unbeaten run to seven games.
Palmer says the performance in West London underlines the strength in depth the Owls have at their disposal.
He said: “It was a hard-fought point in the end, there were a couple of decisions that might have gone our way but we’ll take the clean sheet and move on.
“We’ve shown at Newcastle and at QPR that if there are changes, we are all ready and chomping at the bit to stake our claim.
“We’re solid as a unit and hard to beat, we defend from the front and attack from the back.”
The Owls’ busy fixture schedule continues with a clash against Rotherham on Friday, followed by a Capital One Cup clash with Arsenal on Tuesday.
Palmer continued: “The games are coming thick and fast as they do in the championship. Add into that a cup run and the squad will be tested. But we have a strong group here, as we have shown, and we’re looking forward to it.”
