They are doing fantastic

Carlos Carvalhal has paid tribute to his players after going seven unbeaten in all competitions.

The Owls haven’t tasted defeat since mid-September and have shown terrific resilience since to climb the Championship and advance in the Capital One Cup.

A pleasing point for Carlos was the impact of the seven changes on Tuesday at Loftus Road as the Owls picked up a solid point against QPR.

The head coach said he was pleased that a rotation of the matchday squad carried forward the same philosophies.

“We are trying to manage the way that we put 11 players on the pitch, so that they will be fresh for the games.

“We changed seven players but the philosophy remained the same, all my players have my confidence and they are doing fantastic.”

Attention now turns to tomorrow evening’s televised South Yorkshire derby as the Owls travel to the New York Stadium.

Carvalhal is excited by the fixture and added:

“Let’s see, it will be an exciting game but we only have a short time to prepare. But I don’t want excuses, we will be ready and will fight for the three points.

“The fans understand that we are fighting a lot and I think people are happy.

“We are going into the next game with good vibes.”
