Media attention turned to the Owls’ youth players yesterday as BT Sport visited Middlewood Road to showcase the club’s academy.
The academy will form part of BT Sport’s matchday build-up programme – the ‘Fletch and Sav show’ this Saturday morning from 10.00am.
The programme showcases the brand new state of the art pitch and training facilities, the youth players themselves and coaching staff at the club.
Scholars Warren Clarke and Matt Penney will form the main focus of the feature. The duo have both come up through the ranks at Sheffield Wednesday with Warren playing for the Under-12s and Matt starting out in the Under-8s.
As well as discussing life as a youth player at the club, the pair talked about their fledgling careers, life in the dressing room and their football ambitions.
Interim head of coaching Steven Haslam will also feature in the programme and explain the academy set-up at Wednesday.
The Fletch and Sav show, on BT Sport 1, will air this Saturday 26 September at 10:00am with the Owls featuring at around 11:00am.
