Bannan impressed by Owls

10 September 2015

The international break came at just the right time for midfield man Barry Bannan.

The 25-year-old has spent the last two weeks working hard in training, while getting used to his new surroundings at the club.

With a tough trip to Burnley on the horizon this weekend, Bannan says the extra time with his new team mates has been a luxury.

“It’s helped, I would normally be away on international duty but I was injured before I signed here,” he told swfc.co.uk.

“But I have come in and hit the ground running during the last two weeks and got to know the boys.

“Normally when you arrive at a new club, you are straight into a game without really meeting the boys but I’ve had that luxury and it’s been good.

“There are a lot of good lads here, I knew a few of them before I signed and the other ones have welcomed me so I’ve really enjoyed it.”

Bannan now looks ahead to the Burnley clash which can’t come soon enough.

The talented midfielder is out to add an extra dimension to the Owls’ engine room and continued:

“You come to expect every game to be tough but this is a game we are looking forward to and hopefully we can get three points.

“I’ve come here to play games and bring something new to the team.

“Sheffield Wednesday have always been a massive club, they have brought some great players in and I have been impressed during the last two weeks by how they are trying to play the game.

“I look forward to being part of that.”
