Dust ourselves down

13 September 2015

Tom Lees cut a frustrated figure during the post-match press conference after Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Burnley.

Wednesday produced one of their most impressive performances of the campaign and bossed large parts of the clash at Turf Moor.

But the Owls were ultimately left empty-handed and Lees says the group must dust themselves down ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Bolton.

He said: “We’re obviously disappointed but, like the head coach has emphasised, we have to get ready for Tuesday because it is pretty close now and it’s important we pick up some points.

“It will give us a chance to turn the mood in the camp and that’s what we’ll be looking to do on Tuesday.”

Lees continued: “Sam Vokes and Andre Gray are never easy to play against but I thought we coped well and I didn’t really feel threatened throughout the match.

“It was a bad few moments from us that gifted them the goals rather than us defending poorly.

“But it’s gone now, we know we should have taken something from the game but we’ll move on to Tuesday and look to put that right.”
