Feeling stronger

19 September 2015

Loan ace Michael Turner says the clean sheet in the midweek at Bolton served as confidence booster and the experienced stopper is looking to build on that today.

Wednesday face Turner’s former club Fulham this afternoon at Hillsborough (3.00pm) and ahead of the game he said:

“As a defender you want to keep as many clean sheets as you can over the season.

“To get one in the first game was a confidence booster for me. Keeping clean sheets is vital for going on to pick up points and win games.

“I hadn’t played a game for seven weeks before joining here so match fitness was probably a little bit short.

“I’d trained for two weeks with the team, so it was good to have that period of bedding in and getting to know everyone.

“I played 90 minutes on Tuesday and felt very strong in the game, that’s in the bank now so going in to today, I’ll feel stronger for it.”
