Marco will succeed

18 September 2015

Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal says the determination of Marco Matias will see him succeed at Hillsborough.

The tricky winger, who has scored two goals this term, was amongst the chances at Bolton in midweek but couldn’t convert at The Macron.

Carvalhal believes it’s simply a matter of time before the Portuguese finds his feet and the back of the net on a regular basis.

He said: “Marco is a player that can score, we have changed the way that we play, we now play 4-4-2.

“Marco is one of the players who are adapting and doing his best to adapt in a new way to play.

“He is working hard and will only get better, the same with Sougou.

“We believe they will succeed because they want to do well so much, with time they will do so much better.

“Last year he played left wing and he didn’t have too much work to do on the defensive side to protect team.

“Now it’s different because he must do more team work, he played well in the last match and is in the process of improving every game.”
