Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed that Lewis McGugan will make a return to action this evening.
The 26-year-old hasn’t featured since the Owls’ home clash with Reading on 19 August.
For the midfielder himself, it’s been a busy period off the field having become a father for the first time.
Carvalhal said: “I like the way Lewis McGugan plays and I have said that many times. I pushed him a lot to come to the club.
“He didn’t play the last matches but he is very talented.
“He will play at Newcastle and I have good expectations for him. He does not need to do more than what he usually does.
“Tonight is a good chance for the players and a clear message that we have a really strong squad and not just 11 players.
“The players will have 100% energy and want to play too much so we will play with a good 11 to start the match, absolutely.”
