New Owls duo Fernando Forestieri and Daniel Pudil are eager to get started with Wednesday.

The former Watford teammates joined the club last week and during the annual squad photoshoot today at Hillsborough, swfc.co.uk caught up with both players.

Left back Pudil has said the decision to move to Wednesday was an easy one and the 29-year-old wasted no time in putting pen to paper on a season-long loan deal.

He said: “I’m very happy to be here, I spoke with the chairman of the club and I knew straight away I had to sign here.

“I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to playing the games.

“I already knew before how big this club is so after only minutes I was ready to sign everything.”

Likewise, Forestieri is ready to kick-start the next chapter of his career and is looking forward to making his debut next time out when the Owls travel to Burnley after the break.

He continued: “I’m looking forward to play in the next game and now I focus on my new team.

“We have an international break now which is perfect because we can recover from any injuries for the next game. This is good for the squad and good for me to get to know my team.

“I think Burnley will be a very difficult game but now we need to think about training hard every day and when we get closer to the match, we will think about this game more.”

Pudil added: “I am the type of player who gives everything on the pitch, I try to do my best every second of the games and I can promise I will do my best for the club.

“Hopefully at the end of the season we can all be celebrating with the supporters.”
