Midfield man Sam Hutchinson will be back available for selection at St James’ Park on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old missed the Owls’ 3-2 win over Fulham on Saturday through suspension having accumulated five yellow cards.
With the one-match ban served, Hutchinson could be back in the squad for the Capital One Cup trip to Newcastle tomorrow.
On the combative midfielder, Carlos Carvalhal said: “We can’t put the brakes on him.
“If we put the brakes on him, he would become a completely different player.
“If I said to him take care and don’t do the tackle, he probably would not play because he wouldn’t be the player we want.
“We want his full energy, pressing opponents and hard work. If he have the yellow cards it’s not a big problem because we need this kind of Sam."
