Barry Bannan has slotted in seamlessly since his arrival at Hillsborough.
The Scottish international has shown bags of quality during his first five appearances for Wednesday.
Four of those have come away from Hillsborough and following the most recent away at Brentford, head coach Carlos Carvalhal was full of praise for the former Crystal Palace man.
The talented midfielder went from creator to defender at Griffin Park following the dismissal of Jeremy Helan at left back.
“Barry Bannan can play in all the positions,” Carvalhal said. “If you ask him can he play in central defence, he will tell you he can play in central defence!
“He is the kind of player that all the coaches like because he is a complete player.
“He is a very hard worker, with very good quality, he is a player that absolutely understands football and this type of player can play anywhere.
“But not just him, the whole team were fantastic on Saturday and the attitude of the players was very good.”
