Carlos proud of Owls

15 April 2016

Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal says he is proud of everybody at the club and that everyone must now continue to push in the right direction.

The Owls head into the final five games of the season this weekend and face an Ipswich side who have been battling all season to break into the top six.

But it’s the Owls who occupy a top six spot – five points clear of the chasing pack – and the head coach is full of pride for the job everybody has done so far.

“We are in this position, five games remain, three games are at home and two outside,” he explained.

“If I ask at the beginning of the season if you would want to stay in this position, everybody would say I want, of course.

“This is the most important point, we are back to Hillsborough, we play in front of our fans, we are happy.

“I just talk positive and I am very proud of my players and proud about the club and about what everybody is doing at the moment.”

Should Wednesday maintain their stronghold at Hillsborough against the Tractor Boys, the club would take a big step towards securing a position in the end of the season play-offs but, it’s business as usual for Carlos who only has eyes on the next game.

“All our focus is on Ipswich, of course. This has been our strategy from the beginning.

“Tomorrow we will be in front of our massive fans, they must push to us and we must push to them also but we are ready to the game.”
