Energy from the stands

5 April 2016

Carlos Carvalhal believes that with the energy from the supporters, the Owls can extend their fine run of form at this crucial stage in the season.

Wednesday have won three from their last three games to significantly strengthen their grip on a play-off spot but the head coach insists focus is only on tonight and taking three points from Blackburn Rovers.

He said: “We have won the last three games but we are not getting excited, we know what we must do to try to win the three points.

“I am sure that with the energy from the stands, with our massive fans behind us we can beat Blackburn Rovers.

“We understand what is happening around us and what our supporters feel but we are here and focused on our work. We are not extra excited, we are completely normal.”

Assessing the opposition, Carlos believes his side will face a difficult task this evening and explained:

“Even though they don’t score too many goals, they don’t concede too many goals also so they are a balanced team and I am sure it will be a game difficult for both teams.

“This game will be completely different to the previous games, Blackburn are a compact team and good at set pieces. We will need our fans tonight to help the team, absolutely sure.”
