Entertaining draw for young Owls

16 April 2016

A particularly young Owls academy side drew 2-2 with Coventry at Middlewood Road on Saturday.

A team comprising a string of Under-16s posted a creditable point from an entertaining S6 clash.

The Sky Blues took an early lead before Owls keeper Josh Render made a smart double save to keep Coventry at bay.

Ben Hornsby and Liam Waldock had shots cleared off the line as the hosts pressed for an equaliser, which finally came through Isaac Rice.

Then Wednesday went into the lead a minute later, with Lewis Hunter the man on the spot.

The Owls went on to control the remainder of the game until right at the last when Coventry levelled from the penalty spot.
