Just a number

19 April 2016

Ahead of Carlos Carvalhal’s 50th game in charge of the Owls, the head coach has reflected fondly on his time so far at the club.

Although happy to reach the first landmark of sorts, Carlos believes it is more important what work has been done in the past months since the summer.

Sitting in sixth spot with four games to go and a five point cushion makes for positive reading for Owls fans and the head coach said:

“50 games is sometimes two seasons in some countries but we didn’t finish yet.

“It’s ok, it’s nothing more than a number to me but I am very happy. More important to me is what we are doing during the games and in all these months.

“It’s more important how the team have grown up and the players are growing up also. The value of the players are better now.

“We are still fighting until the last seconds, we have enthusiasm and like we saw in the last game against Ipswich, we have a good attitude and reacted fast after the defeat at Bristol.

“These things make me happy and also confident to the game on Tuesday.”
