Sheffield Wednesday could secure their position in the Championship play-offs next week.
Following the Owls’ 1-1 draw with Derby on Saturday, a place in the top six will be guaranteed next weekend if Wednesday avoid defeat to Cardiff at Hillsborough.
Fresh from scoring a stunning goal against the Rams at The iPro Stadium, Bannan says the squad will now re-group for an important week on the training ground.
“We’re still not there yet,” he said. “We’ve got to concentrate and get a good week’s training under the belt.
“It’s a massive game for us next week.”
After claiming a hard-fought point against a Derby side that had won their previous five games on home soil, Bannan reflected positively on the result and his goal and continued:
“It was a good game, two good teams going head to head, I think a draw is the right result and it’s a good point away from home.
“I’ve missed chances this season and I said before the game I was due a goal and luckily it came today.”
