Our kind of challenge

21 April 2016

Carlos Carvalhal believes Saturday’s clash with play-off rivals Derby County is the kind of challenge his players will relish.

The Owls head to the iPro Stadium on Saturday and could confirm their place in the play-offs.

As it stands, Wednesday hold a six-point gap over seventh spot with three games remaining.

But it’s a stern test for Carlos’ men against a Derby side that have already secured a top six finish and have won their last four fixtures.

“It will be a tough game, absolutely sure,” the head coach said. “Derby are in a good moment, they have won their last four games and they are scoring goals.

“I think we are two teams on a similar process.

“My opinion is that Derby are one of the best teams of the competition. They have a good organisation but we like this kind of challenge.”

The Rams also boast an impressive recent run on home soil, having won their last five games.

Add into the mix the presence of the Sky Sports cameras between the two promotion rivals and the ingredients are there to make it a game to remember.

Carlos added: “We are focused just on this game and I think we will give good answers in this difficult game.

“We are here to fight.”
