Owls stars Fernando Forestieri and Glenn Loovens have helped raise money for a Sheffield charity initiative thanks to their cake decorating skills!
More than £300 has been donated to Weston Park Hospital Cancer Hospital Charity’s #TimeForTeaCakeOff after Glenn and Fernando took part in the fundraising initiative and decorated their very own Sheffield Wednesday cake.
To help increase votes, Owls striker Fernando posted his entry on his own social channels which gained thousands of likes, comments and shares – contributing to the Owls win!
The initiative saw footballers from four South Yorkshire clubs take part but Sheffield Wednesday came out on top with almost 40 people donating and voting via the charity’s Just Giving page.
Glenn said: “Weston Park is such a worthy charity and I’m glad we were able to help! Thanks to everyone who voted! It was a great event to be involved in and it’s great it’s given the charity exposure.”
