Sky Sports duo back elite programme

6 April 2016

As a thank you to Graham Plumber’s Merchant for their support to the Education Programme’s Elite BTEC course, two Sky Sports News presenters were on hand for a special presentation before the Owls home fixture against Brentford.

Sky Sports duo David Garrido and Natalie Sawyer helped present the company’s managing director David Gledhill with a framed Rotherham College football shirt to say thank you for his support.

The Education Programme works closely with Rotherham College and Sheffield FC to provide a unique player development pathway for college students to gain international playing experience and training in a professional setting.

As well as sponsoring the programme’s BTEC 11-a-side scholarship programme, the company have also backed first year talent Frank Koromo who has successfully made the cut to play for the England College Squad.

David Garrido is also the ambassador for the Education and Community Programme and encourages anyone who wants to develop their football career, progress to professional play or coaching to apply to the course.

Spencer Taylor, CSR Manager at Sheffield Wednesday, said: “It’s great to have Graham Plumber’s on board and it’s good for the team that they’re able to get support from a local business. We look forward to working with them again next season!”
